I don't have or use any UAD stuff but that doesn't really matter, because I know and have used many of the real hardware that you mentioned. Otherwise maybe the Neve 1084 but I already have the Neve preamp, so not sure the added EQ is worth spending a plugin on. Is the Ampex more of a mastering thing and the Studer a tracking thing?Ĥ) Anything else essential? Capitol Chambers, Ocean Way, or the Woodworks acoustic DI improver all seem like they do something different than you can find somewhere else. I got my twin with the Neve preamp, Autotune and Voxbox plugins, so these are on my list and would like to get your opinions:ġ) Reverb : I’m torn between the Lexicon 224 or the EMT 140Ģ) Compressor : should I upgrade the legacy LA-2A to the new one? Or should I get the UAD 175b/176 comp instead? What is the difference?ģ) Tape : do any of you track to tape? I’m thinking of getting the Studer 800 or the Ampex 102. But they are expensive!
